The Education Program Internship touches on a wide variety of first-hand experiences, as well as in-office work. This intern will be working on Model United Nations Conferences, as well as high school visits and program planning. Additionally, the Education Intern will help plan and develop material for teacher professional development programs, community lectures, and Global Solutions Pittsburgh events.
Our office environment is small and informal, but fast paced. A successful Education Intern is someone who is independent and confident in his or her work. He or she must be willing to take on and learn new things.
Specific activities of an Education Intern may include:
- Gathering information and assisting in the planning and implementation of teacher professional development programs and student focused presentations
- Developing material for Model United Nations Conferences
- Supporting staff at on-site high school presentations and other GSP events
- Database, website, and social media management
Although it is not required, it is preferred that this intern have some Model United Nations experience, or a background in political science, international relations, or education. A minimum of 12 hours a week is required to be considered for this internship.
