Management Intern
The Management Intern will work directly with the Executive Director to assist on a wide-variety of administrative and management tasks. This internship will be demanding but offer the opportunity to gain practical experience and insight into the management of a small nonprofit organization. While tasks will vary widely depending on the day to day needs of the organization the intern will be given the opportunity to assist with basic financial management, donor and grant development, outreach and internal policy development.
Our office environment is small and informal, but fast paced. A successful Management Intern is someone who is independent and confident in his or her work. He or she must be willing to take on and learn new things.
Specific activities of a Program Intern may include:
- Letter writing as part of a donor cultivation program
- Finding and scheduling outreach opportunities for the Executive Director
- Reviewing internal human resources policies for compliance with best practices
- Working the Board of Directors and sub-committees to increase volunteer participation
- Donor database management
Candidates must have a strong interest in nonprofit management. A background in public administration, business management or accounting is preferred. A minimum of 15 hours a week is required to be considered for this internship.
