Daniel Giovannelli, Executive Director

Having benefited from participating in Model UN as a student himself, Daniel places a special emphasis on student outreach and alternative learning methods. A strong proponent of learning through experience, he has worked extensively to develop Model United Nations programs at both the collegiate and high school level across western Pennsylvania. In addition to his work at Global Solutions Pittsburgh, Daniel is a volunteer for Get Involved! as well as an adjunct professor of Political Science at the Community College of Allegheny County and Duquesne University. Daniel holds a Juris Doctor and Masters of Public Administration from the University of Pittsburgh.
 

Timothy M. Lessick, Manager of Public Programs

Tim graduated from Duquesne University in the Spring of 2009 with a BA in Political Science and International Relations. He interned for the Pittsburgh Darfur Emergency Coalition in the Spring of 2009 and, as of May 2009, serves as the Manager of Public Programs at GSP where he develops and runs public programming. He also coordinates new media outreach, including the Pittsburgh Human Rights Network. In January 2011, he was named the Get Involved! Male Emerging Community Leader at the 2011 Baker Leadership Service Summit. Tim is also currently pursuing his Masters in International Development at the Graduate School for Public and International Affairs at the University of Pittsburgh.
 

Michele Cahill, Manager of Education Programs

Michele graduated from Duquesne University in the Spring of 2009 with a BA in Political Science and History, and is currently working on her Masters in Conflict Resolution and Peace Studies, also at Duquesne. She interned for Global Solutions Pittsburgh in the Fall of 2009 and, as of January 2010 she served as the Elizabeth Bloch Fellow at GSP. She now runs the Global Citizenship in Your Classroom program, focusing on student education and outreach, as well as professional development for teachers.
