Student Empowership – Fall 2015!
Global Solutions Pittsburgh, along with Get Involved! Inc. and Carlow University, hosts a cutting-edge conference for high-school and university student leaders in the Pittsburgh area, entitled Student Empowership!
A combination of empowerment and leadership, Student Empowership is a free one-day conference focuses on providing high school and college students with concrete, skills-based training on how to become active in either student or community based organizations. Expert training is provided on topics such as leadership, career development, professional use of social media, networking, and fundraising. In addition to providing practical skills training, students are provided the opportunity to network with each other and our expert presenters. This conference provides a wonderful opportunity for students to learn about different initiatives taking place within the city and on various campuses.
“The professionals that contributed to the conference by presenting workshops throughout the day gave invaluable advice on several topics including resume building, leadership, goal setting, and networking. The presenters were all very open and genuinely wanted to share the best advice they could with us and we were highly encouraged to ask whatever questions we had. Looking back, I can see that Empowership was the first step to getting my first internship and to making irreplaceable connections with professionals who have served as mentors and role models ever since.” – Diana Hartford, Duquesne University class of 2017
This year’s conference took place on Saturday, October 4th, at Carlow University. A date will be set for the 2015 conference in the spring. For more information about this year’s conference please follow the links below for more information.
